EMOTIONS ARE STORED IN THE BODY
Sacred Somatic Journeys.
This practice is grounded in the understanding that our bodies hold onto memories and experiences, often manifesting as physical tension or discomfort. Somatic healing addresses these stored traumas by encouraging awareness of bodily sensations and emotions.
At its core, somatic healing involves three key components: awareness, release, and integration.
Awareness: Participants are guided to tune into their bodies, noticing sensations such as tension, pain, or a feeling that needs to be felt. This heightened awareness allows individuals to reconnect with their physical selves and recognise how unresolved emotions may influence their state of being.
Release: Once aware of these sensations, individuals will be encouraged to breathe into the sensations. By expressing emotions physically, whether through shaking or other forms of movement, individuals can facilitate the process of letting go, freeing themselves from past traumas.
Integration: The final phase involves integrating the experiences for a more profound understanding of the self. Integration helps individuals create a sense of coherence between their emotional experiences and their bodily sensations, fostering healing and empowerment.
Somatic healing is often used to address a range of issues including anxiety, PTSD, chronic pain, and emotional trauma. By focusing on the body as a vital source of information and insight, it promotes a greater sense of overall well-being. Ultimately, this approach encourages individuals to reclaim their bodies as instruments of healing, facilitating change.
